Dr. Larry Down D.C., B. Sc.
Dr. Larry Down was born and raised in Oshawa. He went on to attend the University of Waterloo from which he graduated in 1979 with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He then attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto from which he graduated in 1983. Dr. Down then decided to begin his private practice in his hometown, Oshawa.
Dr. Down has focused on continually furthering his knowledge of chiropractic and how it relates to health & wellness, and that same passion has led him to become the President of the Durham Chiropractic Association.
Over the course of 33 years, Dr. Down has studied many new techniques including exercise prescription/physiology, K-Laser therapy, Cranial adjusting techniques, IQ instrument adjusting, all of which he has added to his traditional manual chiropractic spinal manipulation techniques.
Interests & Community Involvement
Throughout his life, Dr. Down has tried to balance his professional practice with his family life and volunteer work in the community. He's thoroughly enjoyed coaching hockey in the Oshawa Girls Hockey Association house league and select teams, as well as coaching soccer for the Oshawa N.A.S.C. and Oshawa Turul Soccer Club. He was recognized by the Durham Region Soccer Association with their Volunteer Recognition Award in 2010.
In his free time, Dr. Down enjoys music, even playing trumpet in the local adult band Mood Swing. He also loves hockey, having played regularly in the Whitby Men's League throughout his life. He also loves cottaging, which led him to become a member of the Maple Lake Cottager's Association.
